What we collect
- Order information: your name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number and the gift message you write.
- Recipient information: the name and address of the person you are sending a gift to.
- Payment information: handled directly by our payment providers (Shopify Payments, PayPal). We never see or store your full card number.
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser, pages viewed and referring site, collected through cookies and analytics.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
- To fulfil your order — performance of a contract.
- To handle enquiries, returns and refunds — performance of a contract and our legitimate interests.
- To detect and prevent fraud — legitimate interests.
- To keep accounting and tax records — legal obligation.
- Marketing emails — your consent, or our legitimate interest where you have bought from us and can opt out at any time.
- Analytics and advertising cookies — your consent, given through our cookie banner.
Who we share it with
Shopify (our ecommerce platform), our payment providers, our delivery carriers, our email provider, and Google (Analytics and Ads) where you have consented. We do not sell your personal data. Some of these providers process data outside the UK; where they do, transfers are covered by UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum.
Recipient data
If you give us the name and address of a gift recipient, please make sure they would be happy for you to share it. We use it only to deliver the gift and delete it on the same schedule as your order data.
How long we keep it
Order and transaction records are kept for seven years to meet HMRC requirements. Marketing contact data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained for up to 26 months.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@paraplanr.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to run the basket and checkout, and (with your consent) analytics and advertising cookies from Google. You can change your choices at any time through the cookie settings link in our footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Children
This site sells gifts for babies but is intended for adult purchasers. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
